Discovering “Yess!”

There are many juicy inquiries the exploration of which can help us discover the reality that causes our intuition to respond with a “Yess!” that reverberates throughout all of existence.

One of these inquiries, one of my favorites, is whether everything is God.

My answer is thumbs up.  But in order to be meaningful that answer must animate increasingly my every thought, my every feeling, my every consideration.

To live within the paradigm that everything is God, and that growing our conscious realization of that truth is life’s purpose—pretty much sums up the entirety of my aspirations in this incarnation.

Except for one thing: the dedication required to keep that paradigm my overriding orientation in the face of whatever presents itself.

It’s not so much a matter of keeping the thought of God’s universality ever-present in my cranial vault, but of keeping the intuitive experience of God’s unwavering and complete presence an ever-increasing reality, moment by moment.  Everything else is just theater.

When I reflect on Emerson’s contention that most of us live lives of quiet desperation, I think he’s saying that anything but God is not enough to satisfy our heart’s deepest yearning: to live in consuming harmony with the Essential Spirit Of The Universe.

For me, that harmony is unattainable without cultivating the choice, the capacity, to see and feel and hear and taste nothing but God.

Here’s the best news.  Even simply the understanding that that’s the game we’re playing over all the lifetimes enlightenment requires is liberating, regardless of how accomplished we are at it.  Life is just details once we realize we’re all going to heaven whether we like it or not.  Or perhaps more to the point, that our soul is, and has always been, in heaven whether we know it or not.

How can that not be the case if all is God?

Says he who is known in some circles as pretentious, self-absorbed and extra-cute.
